Activities to avoid on Nadex
As a CFTC-regulated exchange, Nadex is required to establish, monitor, and enforce compliance with the rules of the Exchange. To help you on your trading journey, we would like to shed some light on a few key rules that all Nadex Members should be aware of:
Account management and access
Your application for Nadex Membership should be completed by you and you alone, as you are the one responsible for the activity in your Nadex account. Also, please make sure you do not apply for Nadex Membership in the name of any other individual, even other family members.
You may only maintain one Nadex account at a time – we do not permit multiple accounts so please do not apply for, open, fund, or trade more than one live account.
All accounts are self-directed – you may not have anyone else access, fund, manage, submit orders to, trade, or withdraw from your account. You, and you alone, should be the only one accessing and managing your Nadex account. Similarly, you may not access, fund, manage, submit orders to, trade, or withdraw from the account of any other Nadex Member.
You may not contact Nadex to request information about the account of any other Nadex Member or applicant, nor may you permit any other individual to contact Nadex to request information about your Nadex account.
You should not allow any other individual to access the email account you have registered with your Nadex account, nor should you be accessing the email account of another Nadex Member.
Funding and withdrawals
You can visit our funding page for more information on deposits, withdrawals, and how to verify your bank account for deposit and withdrawal.
All funding to your Nadex account should be solely from you, with no third-party funding sources directly or indirectly invested in your Nadex account.
You are not permitted to make deposits to your Nadex account from a bank account or debit card that is not held in the same name as the name on your Nadex account.
You are not allowed to fund your individual Nadex account from a business or entity account, including trusts.
You may not deposit funds to Nadex from any third party (directly or indirectly).
You may not pool or combine funds of third parties for investment through your individual account – all funds should be yours and yours alone.
Nadex does not accept any funding in cryptocurrencies. If someone asks you to transfer money to them in Bitcoin, or any other cryptocurrency, for purposes of trading on Nadex, this is a scam.
Similar to the requirement for deposits, all withdrawals should be made to a bank account in your own name, matching the name on your Nadex account.
Trading
All accounts are self-directed – you must be the only one placing orders/trading in your own Nadex account. No third-party management is permitted.
Nadex is an exchange, and all Members must trade their own accounts.
Account managers are not allowed to trade or manage your Nadex account, and you are not allowed to pay a third party to trade your account on your behalf.
Nadex does not provide trade recommendations and does not have any brokers to trade your account for you.
You may not trade your Nadex account for the benefit of any other individual or entity, nor may you request any other Nadex Member to trade his or her account for your own benefit.
You may not engage in any of the actions prohibited by the following found on the Legal and Rules pages of our website:
Nadex Rulebook
Nadex Membership Agreement
Nadex Terms of Use
In summary, it’s quite simple to avoid breaking these rules by merely trading and managing your own account and ensuring you deposit from and withdraw to a bank account in your name. If you proceed with any of these prohibited activities, your Nadex account may be placed on hold and you will be notified via email about the violation in question and next steps.
The Nadex platform was designed by traders, for traders – no brokers or account managers here. It’s very important for you to know this in order to protect yourself and to protect your money – if someone approaches you saying that they are a trader working for Nadex, this is simply not true. No third party is allowed to trade your account for you. Anybody who says that they can, even on social media, is not associated with Nadex and is acting illegally. We have an expert customer service team who will be happy to answer your questions and even walk you through your first trade, but we don’t employ anybody who can trade or manage your account on your behalf. Now, get out there and trade your way with Nadex!
